WINGRIP® NEXT – The next-generation clinging bridge

WINGRIP® NEXT the next-generation clinging bridge

What is a clinging bridge?

The clinging bridge is a useful product in construction to improve the adhesion of new layers of materials on existing surfaces that might otherwise be difficult to over-applying because of their low porosity. It is particularly useful when applying plasters, shaving, o coatings at smooth surfaces o poorly absorbent as concrete, metal (also oxidizable), glass, ceramics.

Grapple bridge products

What is it for?

Main function: the adhesion bridge creates a rough surface that improves the adhesion of subsequent materials. It functions as an adhesion promoter.

Main components:

  • Resins based on acrylic polymers in water dispersion: provide excellent adhesion and durability.
  • Granules or silica sand: included in some products to create a rough texture that improves mechanical adhesion.

Mode of application:

  • Surface preparation: the surface should be clean, dry, cohesive and free of dust, oils, or grease.
  • Application: the product is applied by roller, brush or spray. The application should be even and completely cover the surface.
  • Drying: drying time varies depending on environmental conditions and the specific product.

Benefits:

  • Increases adhesion: greatly improves the adhesion of subsequent materials.
  • Versatility: can be used on a variety of surfaces, including metals, concrete, glass, brick, ceramic and other materials commonly used in construction.
  • Ease of use: easy to apply with common tools.

Limitations and precautions:

  • Compatibility: it is important to choose a clinging bridge compatible with both materials, the existing one and the new one.
  • Working conditions: make sure the temperature and humidity conditions are suitable for the application.
  • Protection: use the PPE described by the data sheet.

Product examples:

  • WINGRIP® EVO: universal clinging bridge, a quick-drying, stretchy, ready-to-use, based on water dispersion resins And selected aggregates. It is easily and evenly applied, ensuringadhesion extremely tenacious, on low-wetting and smooth substrates (which, as such, do not provide clinging points) such as concrete, wood, metal, chalk, insulating panels, bricks, bricks, Cellular cement, ceramics and miscellaneous.
  • WINGRIP® NEXT: considered the next-generation clinging bridge, the evolution of the WINGRIP® EVO by Winkler

Discover WINGRIP® NEXT, the next-generation adhesion promoter developed by the laboratories of Winkler Research and Development. This innovative product allows the“fresh-on-fresh” application with a tenacity of adhesion unprecedented.

WINGRIP® NEXT: applications and benefits

  • Fresh-on-fresh adhesion promoter: perfect for adhering screeds and self-levelling, even on substrates with uneven water absorption.
  • Versatile: ideal for plasters, skim coats, cementitious adhesives and as insulation for gypsum and plasterboard.
  • Improves adhesion: excellent for low-thickness shaving on facades, cornices and pillars, and for laying ceramic wall tiles on pre-existing tiles.
  • Easy application: apply by brush, paintbrush, roller or airless pump spray in a single coat, providing uniform coverage. For chalking surfaces, prior use of consolidant is recommended WINFIX CONCRETE.

Improving the quality characteristics and effectiveness of solutions that are already at the cutting edge of technology has always been the goal of Winkler. I innovative products are indeed such and interesting because they always enable the Laboratory Research e Development to identify areas for improvement related to the nature of the product, first and foremost, but also to its workability and adaptability to the most diverse site situations.

For more than 20 years, WINGRIP® EVO has helped differentiate Winkler from other companies; by now, its reputation precedes us. It is synonymous with reliability, tenacity and versatility of use in the world of adhesion promoters and has evolved over the years. A fast-drying, ready-to-use universal adhesion bridge that even in its earliest formulations, again water-based and solvent-free, guaranteed extremely tenacious but only mechanicaladhesion due to the presence of fillers. Today Winkler presents the evolution of this successful product. It is called WINGRIP® NEXT and is an extremely easy-to-use, ready-to-use adhesion promoter based on water dispersion resins and selected aggregates. It offers an innovative formulation that provides greater tenacity than ever, but most importantly, it allows “fresh-on-fresh” over-application of screeds, self-levelling cement itious mixes and any other horizontal cementitious mix.

WINGRIP® NEXT can therefore be used as a “fresh-on-fresh” adhesion promoter for adhered or self-levelling screeds.

It can be applied, after at least two hours after application, even on substrates with uneven water absorption. In addition, it ensures a tenacious membership by plasters (max. thickness of 2 centimeters) and of SHAVING. It is ideal as clutching hand for cement adhesives before laying floor or wall coverings in overlay, as an insulator for chalk and coated gypsum sheets Plasterboard, to improveadhesion of shaving at insulation coat panels. By preventing the absorption of mixing water, it is outstanding for low thickness shaving by Facades, cornices o pillars. In addition, applied on pre-existing tiles allows exceptional adhesion to cementitious adhesives for subsequent Laying ceramic wall tiles.

Like all products Winkler, and in line with the philosophy Winkler Safe, also WINGRIP NEXT is a water-based without solvents, to safeguard human health and the environment. An innovative answer that can guarantee superior technical performance, the result of the most advanced research to achieve the highest quality.

This mission, which began nearly four decades ago, is confirmed daily by Winkler‘s product quality certifications, ensuring reliability and innovation in sustainable waterproofing.

FAQ

What exactly is the purpose of a clinging bridge?

It is used to improve the adhesion of new materials (such as plaster, screed or glue) on smooth or low-porous surfaces such as concrete, old tiles, metal or glass. It works as an adhesion promoter, creating a rough and tough base.

What is the main advantage of the new WINGRIP® NEXT?

Its innovative advantage is its ability to allow “fresh-on-fresh” over-application. This allows cementitious screeds or self-levelling screeds to be laid directly on the product while still fresh, providing superior adhesion and tenacity.

On what types of surfaces can WINGRIP® NEXT be used?

It is extremely versatile. It can be applied to almost any surface, including smooth, low-porous surfaces such as concrete, old ceramic tiles, metal (even oxidizable), wood, plaster, gypsum board, and insulation panels.
