RESTORATION AND WATERPROOFING OF EXPOSED STAIR STEPS AND HORIZONTAL CONCRETE STRUCTURES

Intervention procedure for restoring exposed stair steps and horizontal concrete structures, using a passivating agent and thixotropic or pourable structural mortar, completed with a waterproofing process suitable for intense traffic

1 DETERIORATED CONCRETE STRUCTURE

2 REMOVAL OF THE DETERIORATED CONCRETE AND MECHANICAL CLEANING OF THE EXPOSED REINFORCEMENT

3 REINFORCEMENT PASSIVATION

Application of a single-component cement-based product with corrosion inhibitors for reinforcement protection, WAR M, applied with a brush on pre-cleaned metal. Consumption: 200 g/m for 8/10 mm diameter bars.

4 COVER CONCRETE RESTORATION

Horizontal and flat areas restored with WR02 WINREPAIR, a ready-to-use, pourable cement-based mortar, class R4; vertical areas restored with WR07 FIBROWIN, a single-component, thixotropic, fiber-reinforced mortar, class R4.

5 CORNER REINFORCEMENT

Application of self-adhesive butyl strip BC SEAL BAND in corners. Used together with BC SEAL PAD for covering drains, floor outlets, and penetrations.

6 ANTI-SLIP HORIZONTAL WATERPROOFING

Installation and waterproofing of the floor using the ONE® FLOORING system applied with roller, brush, or spray. Suitable for high traffic and puncture-resistant, applicable also on damp surfaces and at extreme temperatures (0 to 45 °C). Applied in three coats: first coat 0.4 kg/m², second coat 1.2 kg/m², third coat 0.3 kg/m².

7 VERTICAL WATERPROOFING UPTURN

Realization of the waterproofing upturn using the ONE® VERTICAL system, a thixotropic vertical waterproofing for edges and details. Puncture-resistant, applicable on damp surfaces and at extreme temperatures (0 to 45 °C). Applied in a single coat with a consumption of 0.35 kg/m².
