Water repellent product for terrace protection
Based on a totally solvent-free formulation with 100 percent active matter, SKERMO TERRAZZE is a protective, water-repellent and durable product that can be applied to typical outdoor floor coverings such as ceramics, clinker, grés, and cotto, capable of blocking the penetration of rainwater through porous or damaged structures; at the same time, it is non-film-forming, and therefore does not alter the breathability oraesthetic appearance of treated surfaces. Its specific hydrophobic action also prevents the outcropping of efflorescence, mosses, algae, lichens, and bacteria, which, like water, can generate deterioration phenomena on balconies and terraces, in addition to negatively affecting the healthiness of buildings. The effectiveness of its protective action also extends to the phenomena of natural aging and crumbling due to freeze-thaw cycles, as well as to the penetration of aggressive and saline agents, thus proving suitable for use even in marine areas; thanks to its low dirt grip, moreover, SKERMO TERRAZZE prevents dust, soot and atmospheric pollution in general from attaching to the treated surfaces.
From the application point of view, SKERMO TERRAZZE also offers numerous advantages. Installation preparation operations are very simple, involving only thorough cleaning of the substrate to remove possible friable parts and substances that could compromise setting, and preventive grouting of any damaged joints with a special product such as WINSTUCCO FLEX. The application, which must take place on a dry or slightly damp surface, can be done with a roller or brush, requiring as the only precaution a thorough impregnation of the joints. About 15 minutes after application, any traces of excess product can be removed with a clean cloth, and about 18 hours after treatment the surface can be walked on again. Product yield on tiled surfaces is about 15 square meters per liter; waterproofing effectiveness is guaranteed for a period of ten years.

Do I have to remove the existing flooring to stop the seepage?
No, innovative products such as Skermo Terraces are designed to be applied directly to existing flooring (ceramic, grés, cotto). Demolition is thus avoided, saving a great deal of time and cost in resurfacing.
Does this type of waterproofing change the appearance of my terrace?
No, it is a transparent, non-film-forming protectant. It penetrates porosity and joints without creating a surface film. Thus, the original aesthetic appearance of the flooring remains completely unchanged.
How do you apply the product and after how long can you walk on the balcony?
