Project Objectives

The client required the complete renovation of the existing in-ground pool, with objectives including:

  • restoration of the deteriorated cement substrate
  • total waterproofing of walls and floor
  • chemical- resistant finish for permanent immersion
  • high aesthetic value
  • environmentally responsible, safe products

Traditional cement-based technologies could not guarantee the required elasticity and continuity.

A high-performance resin system was therefore the optimal choice.

On-Site Application Phases

The renovation followed a strict certified protocol:

  1. Removal of all loose, damaged, or incompatible layers down to sound concrete
  2. Hydro-sandblasting of natural stone (calcarenite) perimeter edges
  3. Application of two coats of WINFIX WET (500 g/m² per coat)
  4. Application of one coat of WINFIX UNIVERSAL
  5. Application of two cross coats of WINPAINT P (RAL 1015 color)
  6. Application of a saturation protective treatment on surrounding stone surfaces

Set in the province of Siracusa, the pool represents an excellent example of technical and aesthetic enhancement for outdoor wellness areas exposed to challenging Mediterranean climate conditions.

The structure now enjoys long-lasting protection against degradation and infiltration, with the guarantee of reduced maintenance over time.
