MEMBRANE BITUMINOSA EXPERTA

Membrane EXPERTA, revolutionary membranes, according to Winkler.

The range consists of:

• EXPERTA 400 – Flexibility down to –20°C
• EXPERTA 300 – Flexibility down to –15°C
• EXPERTA 250 – Flexibility down to –10°C
• EXPERTA 180 – Flexibility down to –5°C

The Winkler EXPERTA line is designed for the most demanding professionals: a new generation of bituminous waterproofing membranes that combines durability, maximum adhesion and ease of installation, even under difficult conditions.

Thanks to a special compound based on distilled bitumen modified with APP elastoplastomeric polymers, atactic and isotactic polypropylene, synthetic compatibilizers and stabilizing inert fillers, it guarantees:

  • Excellent adhesion to the substrate
  • Very good dimensional stability
  • Long-term durability

Reinforced structure

Reinforcement with continuous filament non-woven polyester fabric, glass-stabilized, providing:

  • High mechanical strength
  • Solid structural stability
  • Long-lasting performance over time

Available finishes

  • Top surface: polymeric non-woven fabric, anti-adhesive inert finish, or polymer films
  • MINERAL version: treated with natural slate flakes or ceramic-coated granules
  • Bottom surface: with torchable film, for fast and safe torch-on installation

General waterproofing installation guidelines

To ensure that the waterproofing system made with high-performance EXPERTA bitumen–polymer membranes provides maximum durability and full protection against weathering, the following guidelines must be observed:

  • The use of the membrane must always be verified in relation to the declared intended use, the designed build-up and the expected service conditions, as stated in the CE Marking and Declaration of Performance (DoP). Always apply a double layer with staggered sheets, avoiding cross joints. Always apply a double layer with staggered sheets, avoiding cross joints.
  • Use similar EXPERTA membranes within the same installation system.
  • Overlap sheets by 10 cm on the sides and 15 cm at the head laps.
  • Protect rolls from direct sunlight exposure.
  • After 90 days of exposure to UVA radiation, protect the membrane with coatings such as 2000 PLUS, Ecosilverall or Coverame.
  • Avoid storing rolls horizontally.
  • Seal sheet connections to perimeter walls using TIXO SEAL after torch welding.
  • Heat the roll uniformly during application to prevent “creep” phenomena.
  • Do not apply on cellular concrete or on damp / non-cured screeds.

Membrane protection

Protecting a bituminous membrane means increasing its long-term effectiveness. Winkler protective systems allow membranes to remain in optimal condition over time, protecting them from weathering and UV radiation.

Choosing a protective coating from the 2000 Plus Reflex range also helps reduce the surface temperature of the roof, improving the building’s energy efficiency and preserving roofing materials over time.

The Winkler protective system for new membranes includes the application of a fixing primer that blocks oil migration, 2000 FAST PRIMER, followed by 2000 FAST, a coloured elastomeric protective coating resistant to standing water, specifically formulated to protect smooth or slate-finished bituminous membranes, even when newly installed.

In the reflective version, 2000 FAST REFLEX, in addition to protecting the membranes, surface temperatures are significantly reduced thanks to its Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of 108. This temperature reduction further enhances the longevity and stability of the materials used.. This lowering of temperatures gives further longevity and stability to the materials used.
